Hello Lochside Families!
We hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It has been great to see so much energy around the school as we settle into the second half of January. Below are this week’s updates—thank you for being such an engaged and supportive community!
A Huge Thank You!
A special shout-out and a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and volunteers who helped out with the first Fun Lunch of 2026. These events couldn’t happen without your time and dedication!
Saanich Schools Parent Engagement Evening – Online Event
Don't forget! The district-wide Parent Engagement Evening is happening this Wednesday, January 28th, at 7:00 PM. The theme is Digital Wellbeing and Learning. You can find information on the forthcoming Parent Engagement Evening as well as register here:
Exciting News! An extra Fun Lunch is available!
The Grade 5s will be hosting an extra special Pizza Fun Lunch on February 20th – hooray, one less day to pack a lunch! 😉
Order as usual from our HotLunches.net page and look for “*NEW* Friday February 20 – Dominos”
Calling all Grade 4/5 parents! We need your help to make the upcoming Pizza Day a success. We are looking for volunteers to help the Grade 5s with distribution and organization.
Please look out for a donation option to help a Gr 4/5s get to Camp Immadene. This will be included as a menu item on the Fun Lunch order page.
Cupcake Sale for Camp Immadene
Mark your calendars! The Grade 5 Planning Committee is hosting a Cupcake Sale on Wednesday, February 11th, in support of Camp Immadene and our Grade 5 graduation events.
Calling all Gr 4/5 Volunteers. Please sign up to donate and/or distribute cupcakes here
For the kids: Bring your loonies and toonies on the Feb 11th to grab a delicious treat. Anything left over will be sold off during after school pickup from 2:30-3:30
Safety First: Car Safety at Drop-off & Pickup
A quick reminder to all families, our parking lot can be a very busy place—especially during drop-off and pick-up times. We kindly ask everyone to please slow down, stay alert, and watch carefully for children/anyone who may be walking, biking, or darting unexpectedly between cars.
A few simple reminders:
• Drive slowly and follow posted signs
• Always hold younger children’s hands
• Avoid distractions while driving
• Be mindful when backing out of parking spaces
• Consider avoiding driving onto school property and park close by instead!
