Weekly Update: September 21, 2025

Hello Lochside Families!

We hope you've all had a good weekend! Don't forget that there is NO SCHOOL TOMORROW! Students will be welcomed back to Lochside on Tuesday.

1) Thank yous:

We owe a lot of thanks this week!

• First popcorn day of the year thank you to the Amanda and the popcorn crew for making this happen (please don't forget to send in your popcorn payments if you haven't already!)

• Welcome Open House and Picnic thank you to the staff for hosting families in their classrooms and thank you so much to the volunteers who helped make the picnic a huge success!

• Terry Fox Run A huge thank you to Country Grocer for helping us offset the cost of the fruit and thank you so much to the lovely helpers who got the fruit ready: A special note from Sara "Gratitude to your Terry Fox fruit volunteers! It was a thoughtful contribution, but it wasn't just that, it was the care with which they prepared multiple options for classes, chopped it up and scrambled at the last minute to make sure everybody had what they needed. It was truly appreciated and noticed, making the run extra special!"

2) Grade 5 Grad Clothing:

Another reminder that the deadline for Grade 5 Grad clothing is next week on September 28th! Do not miss your chance if you want one for your Grade 5 student. This is the only opportunity this year.  https://store.passionsports.ca/lochsidegrad2026

3) LEPAC's Proposed Budget:

Please review the proposed budget here. It will be voted on at our October LEPAC meeting.

4) Fun Lunch Volunteers Needed:

Our first fun lunch coming on October 3rd and we are still seeking volunteers. Please consider signing up for a shift or two here:

Pizza Days are always the most popular but they really do need more volunteers than other fun lunches to help divvy up all those slices!

5) Coupon Book Sale:

The Coupon Book Sale is running until September 30th. If you don't want to sell any books, please return the book that went home with your child as soon as possible. The classrooms that sell the most books will win a pizza party!

7) Lochside Halloween Party

Can you help us with the Halloween Party?

LEPAC usually throws a super fun Halloween Dance and Party but we need a couple people to help organize the event. The party would be on either October 17th or 30th depending on your availability. • Country Grocer Receipts – Save them & drop them off in the classroom folder or foyer box. Thank you so much to Amy who adds them all up and trades them in for the gift cards we use for our initiatives!

• Mabel’s Labels – Order personalized labels and keep track of belongings

• Bottle Depot – Mention “Lochside Elementary PAC” when dropping off returnables
