Weekly Update: April 12, 2026

A Huge Thank You!

A big thank you to our amazing volunteers! We had another successful Fun Lunch last Friday and a fantastic Popcorn Day recently. These events wouldn't be possible without our dedicated coordinators, Kaylee S. and Amanda G. Please keep an eye out for upcoming volunteer opportunities at Lochside—it’s a wonderful way to support the school, lighten the load for others, and prevent burnout

LEPAC Meeting this week!

When: Tuesday, April 14 | 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

  • Where: Learning Commons

  • Feature: We will start with a presentation and Q&A regarding Lockdown Drills with our Saanich Police school liaison officer.

  • Bonus: Childminding and snacks are provided!

Help Wanted: Join the LEPAC Executive Team!

We are looking for parents to fill LEPAC Executive roles for the 2026/27 school year.

We are officially seeking "enthusiastic" volunteers, but we’re also perfectly happy with "willing," "bribed with snacks," or even just "very good at pretending to be enthusiastic." If you have a pulse and a spare hour now and then, we’d love to have you!

Please consider signing up for a position—it’s a great way to have a say in what happens at the school (and we promise we’re a fun group).

  • The Details: Keep an eye out for a separate email coming soon with role descriptions.

  • The Vote: Official elections will take place at our AGM in May.

Grade 4/5 Spring Plant Sale 🌱

We have one week left to help our Grade 4/5s reach their goal. They only need to sell 14 more plants! If you haven’t ordered yet, please consider supporting them (and remember, 14 is just the minimum—more are always welcome!).

2026/27 School Bus Registration

Registration opens April 15 at 12:00 PM (noon).

Important Reminders:

  • Each student must be registered individually every year (registrations do not carry over).

  • Payment options will be available once Transportation confirms your space.

  • Register by May 31: Applications received after this date are considered late and will incur a $100 late fee.

  • Register early: Saanich Schools Transportation

  • Questions? Email: transportation@saanichschools.ca
