🍂 It’s Been a Busy Week!

It’s been a busy week at Lochside, with lots happening in and around the school! We hope everyone had a great week and is enjoying a well-deserved weekend.

With so much going on, we’re especially grateful to the volunteers and families who helped make it all possible.

đź’› Thank You to Our Volunteers!

We want to start this week with a huge thank you to everyone who gave their time to support our school activities!

For the Terry Fox Run, a special thank you to Surya D. and Salena G-P. for stepping up to help, and to our volunteers who handed out fruit to students:

May Z. • Yong W. • Tera G. • Megan B.

Thank you as well to our school staff for helping provide a safe and organized environment for the run. And it’s not too late to support the Terry Fox fundraiser — donations can still be made online.

For Hot Lunch, a special thank you to Kaylee S. for leading and organizing the program this year, and to our first group of volunteers:

Alice L. • Miranda W. • Richard A. • Andrea I. • Aaron H. • Jessica H. •

Jennifer P. • Yong W. • William • Angie Z. • Ashley M. • Brianne M. • Tera G. • Emily W.

Hot Lunch depends on parent and family volunteers to sort and distribute orders, and that support is essential to keeping the program going throughout the year. We were so happy to see so many people sign up for our first lunch. Thank you for giving your time to make it possible!

Last Call for Coupon Books!

Our Community Values Coupon Book fundraiser ends October 9! If your family received a book, now is the time to either purchase it, sell it to family or friends, or return it to the school if you’re not participating.

Books are $40 each and are packed with coupons and discounts for food, shopping, activities, and more throughout Greater Victoria. Funds raised help support LEPAC programs and initiatives for Lochside students.

Don’t forget — students can also earn prizes for books sold, with additional prizes for top sellers and classes! 🎉

🏀 Community Opportunity: Girls Basketball

Have a child who loves basketball — or might like to give it a try? Triple Threat Basketball Academy is a local girls basketball organization offering programs for players in Grades 3 – 8 across Greater Victoria.

Their focus is on helping girls build skills and confidence while having fun and developing a love for the game. No tryouts or previous basketball experience are required for their skill development programs, with groups for Grades 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8. Winter sessions take place on Sundays beginning October 25, with another season offered in the spring.

Triple Threat also offers competitive travel teams, individual training, and mentorship for local basketball coaches.
