Weekly Update: January 4, 2026

Updated: Jan 4

Hello Lochside Community!

As we welcome the New Year, we hope your winter break was restful and filled with special moments. It’s hard to believe we’re already stepping into the next chapter of the school year—classes resume tomorrow, and we’re excited to see the halls buzzing with energy once again. Wishing all of our families a happy, healthy New Year!

Here are a few updates and reminders as we move through October:

1) Thank you for a successful Grade 5 Bottle Drive and Tree Chipping

A huge thank-you to the Grade 5 Committee volunteers who helped make yesterday’s Tree Chipping and Bottle Drive such a success. Over $500 was raised in Tree Chipping donations and 10 totes of recyclables were collected! Your time and effort are so appreciated!

We’d also like to extend our gratitude to New Growth Tree for their support with the tree chipping!

2) Traffic Safety

Please help keep our students safe during drop-off and pick-up.

  • Respect the drop-off lane — it’s for continuous movement only.

  • Do not stop or wait in the lane.

  • Avoid creeping your vehicle’s back end onto Royal Oak Drive.

  • Do not go down the south end of Lochside Drive - it is extra dangerous now with the construction in progress.

  • Give yourself a few extra minutes to park on a nearby side street and walk your children to school.

3) Get Ready for Fun Lunch 2026 Orders

The Fun Lunch website is will be ready for your 2026 orders on Monday January 5!
